Here's to putting feng shui into practice! These feng shui bedrooms are now inviting and promote restful sleep. : )
Special thanks to these contributors for sharing their stories. May their experiences inspire you to enhance your bedroom -- with as little as moving objects or trying some new paint and bedding.
By doing all these feng shui changes, the best part is that I fall asleep quicker . . . and wake up feeling refreshed and happy!
Before my bedroom makeover was completed, I was not sleeping all through the night. And I wanted a change!
With the modifications I made, I am now able to sleep through the whole night -- it really means a lot. And I quite enjoy the appearance of my new room!
To make the energy in the room better for me, I needed metal and earth elements. A little fire was needed for my personal energy.
So I picked out some earth colors for the walls. Then my Auntie and I re-painted the room. It was a light baby blue before. It's now a peanut butter color with a dark chocolate brown accent wall behind the bed.
For the metal energy, we added a new comforter with mostly white and a burst of hot pink in the middle. I really like it!
It was beneficial to have a little fire energy behind my head. Sounded good to me!
So my Auntie and I made a hot pink headboard! It matches my new comforter.
I also took my big mirror out from facing the bed. Instead, I now have a long one beside my door -- and it doesn't face the bed.
Although I do miss my big mirror above my dresser . . . I'm able to deal with it. And have gotten used to the fact that it's for the better.
Now that I made these changes, I feel more relaxed in my room. I find myself going straight to my room after school and laying on my bed to do my homework. Before I would sit on the couch or in the kitchen to do it.
I am extremely glad I redecorated my room because now I have a more positive energy in it. I truly do feel a change!
Nikki says: "Love the room :)))" and
From Shirley: Love the colors! Your new comforter looks great. Very cool! So glad to hear you are now sleeping through the night -- perfect example of how feng shui bedrooms help. Hope you keep feeling refreshed and happy!
I now sleep better through the night and changed only two things! My husband and I have a large green plant (more like a tree) beside the windows in our bedroom.
I didn't realize the plant could have any effect on sleep. But after
reading the information about yin yang, it hit me that this beautiful,
healthy plant was yang. It is growing and vibrant because it gets sun
from the south. It's tall and big.
We close the curtains at night but sometimes there's light that comes through. I often sleep on my side, facing the windows, and have woken up sometimes with a start because of seeing something large in front of the windows. It doesn't take long to figure out it's the tree but it's enough to wake me up.
Although we like the tree and my husband doesn't seem to be bothered by it (he doesn't face it like I do), we moved it to another room. Maybe it's in my mind, but I do feel better!
This picture is for illustration purposes.
Indoor trees can be large and it's easy to see how they could look ominous when opening eyes during sleep time.
While vibrant is good, these types of plants should not be in feng shui bedrooms -- they are better placed in a family room or office.
We close the bathroom door now, too. Not sure how much that has helped but I have noticed a difference in sleeping more soundly through the night.
I don't wake up as groggy anymore. That makes my husband happy! It makes me happy too because I start my day feeling better and it continues throughout the day.
Our bed is in the right place for us so that's good. I haven't woken up to seeing something tall and fuzzy in front of the windows anymore. I'm the one who was fuzzy and it's now cleared up.
Thanks for the information. The changes we made didn't cost us a thing and they have helped!
From Shirley: So happy you're sleeping better and enjoying the benefits of restful sleep! And thanks for pointing out feng shui doesn't have to cost anything to be effective. : ) Wishing you and your husband continued happiness!
